Los Arcos, declared a Refuge Zone for the Protection of Marine Flora and Fauna in 1975 by the then Ministry of Industry and Commerce, is one of the most amazing places in the Bahia (bay) de Banderas has to offer. Great spot for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding and taking lots of pictures! Home to a large variety of tropical sea life and endemic birds and ducks.
One of the best beaches in Puerto Vallarta is Colomitos, a short stretch of sand with legendary beauty. No roads lead to this hidden gem. Only accessible by boat or hiking from Boca de Tomatlan (45min). Considered one of the most beautiful and smallest beaches in the Bay.
“Las Animas”, is a beautiful beach in the Southern zone of Puerto Vallarta.
It is the first stop water taxis make (locally called “pangas”) on the way West in the southern section of the Banderas Bay. Its relatively close location makes it a very popular stop and luckily both the natural setting, the beach and the sea make it a beautiful experience. Great stop for getting some amazing seafood.

4 to 5 hours. Four hours covers snorkeling at Los Arcos, a swim at Colomitos and lunch at Las Animas; add an extra hour if you want more beach time.
Can beginners snorkel at Los Arcos?
Yes. Snorkel gear and life jackets are included, the Heaven on Earth team helps first-timers in the water, and kids from age 6 can join the tour.
Is lunch included?
Lunch is not included — you eat at the beach restaurants of Las Animas, famous for some of the best seafood in the bay. Bring cash. The boat has a cooler and you're welcome to bring your own drinks.
