Los Arcos, declared a Refuge Zone for the Protection of Marine Flora and Fauna in 1975 by the then Ministry of Industry and Commerce, is one of the most amazing places in the Bahia (bay) de Banderas has to offer. Great spot for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding and taking lots of pictures! Home to a large variety of tropical sea life and endemic birds and ducks.We will be visiting this place in complete darkness for the best bioluminescence experience.
One of the best beaches in Puerto Vallarta is Colomitos, a short stretch of sand with legendary beauty. No roads lead to this hidden gem. Only accessible by boat or hiking from Boca de Tomatlan (45min). Considered one of the most beautiful and smallest beaches in the Bay. We will be visiting this beach at near complete darkness, experiencing having the beach, in the dark, with music in the back, most likely all to yourself.

When can you see bioluminescence in Puerto Vallarta?
Much of the year — the key is darkness, not the month. The darker the night, the brighter the glow, so nights around the new moon are best. We take you to dark spots away from the city lights.
Can you swim in the bioluminescence?
Yes — that's the highlight. You snorkel at Los Arcos in the dark and watch the water light up around every movement. Snorkel gear and life jackets are included.
Is the glow guaranteed?
It's a natural phenomenon, so intensity varies night to night. We time the tour after dark and pick the darkest spots to give you the best possible show.
What time does the tour leave?
Departure is timed around sunset so you get the golden hour at Mismaloya and full darkness at Los Arcos. The exact hour changes with the season — we confirm it on WhatsApp.
What should I bring for the night tour?
A towel, dry clothes to change into after snorkeling and a sweater — the breeze gets chilly after dark. From $329 USD for the whole boat, 3–4 hours.
