All you need to know
Los Arcos, declared a Refuge Zone for the Protection of Marine Flora and Fauna in 1975 by the then Ministry of Industry and Commerce, is one of the most amazing places in the Bahia (bay) de Banderas has to offer. Great spot for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding and taking lots of pictures! Home to a large variety of tropical sea life and endemic birds and ducks.
Quimixto, a magical fishing village of about 2000 people (about 500 from US & Canada). Completely separated from the world, inviting us to connect with nature. Surrounded by jungle, filled with rivers, a gorgeous waterfall, beautiful beach, amazing surfing (seasonal) and great locals. Located on the South part of the bay, this has become our all-time favorite place.

How hard is the hike to the Quimixto waterfall?
It's about a 40-minute walk through the village and along the river, at an easy pace. If you'd rather not walk, you can ride up on horseback for $25 USD per person.
How long is the Quimixto tour and what does it cost?
5 to 7 hours, with a 5-hour minimum. On our smallest panga that's $395 USD total for the whole boat with up to 4 guests — never per person. The calculator on this page gives your exact total.
Do we also snorkel at Los Arcos?
Yes — the route stops at Los Arcos National Marine Park on the way south, with snorkel gear and life jackets included.
Can you surf in Quimixto?
Sometimes — Quimixto has a surf break that works only in season. Ask us on WhatsApp and we'll tell you how the waves are looking for your dates.
Is food included at the beach?
Food and drinks are not included. Quimixto's beach restaurants serve fresh food with great service — bring cash, since there are no card terminals in the village.
